Liverpool Riverside MP Kim Johnson has praised Daisy Inclusive UK during a recent visit of its centre in Everton, describing the charity as a ‘safety valve’ for the community.
“Without organisations like Daisy Inclusive UK, the people that live in the area would be without very essential services,” she said.
“We know that people are struggling at this moment in time – 14 years of austerity, cost of living and we know that the war in the Middle East is going to have a significant impact, so these services are essential.”
Ms Johnson also highlighted how the Government has provided £20m of funding to the area, adding: “Everton East is a pride in place area and this opportunity provides our community organisations, our constituents and our residents to decide what it is they would like this £20m to be spent on over the next 10 years.”
Dave Kelly, CEO at Daisy Inclusive UK, discussed a number of topics with Ms Johnson as the charity kicked off it’s Easter activities in style with a live singer wowing onlookers at the centre.
“A huge thank you to Kim Johnson MP for visiting us,” said Dave.
“It really is appreciated and it was great to chat about a number of topics openly.”
