A team of individuals looking to develop the skills and confidence needed for work have given Daisy Inclusive UK’s allotment a new lease of life as part of the Barclays LifeSkills Programme.
Braving the rain, Barclays employees from across Merseyside joined Daisy Inclusive UK beneficiaries and staff at their allotment to help clear the ground, so the Liverpool-based charity can grow more vegetables.
“We are extremely grateful that a team from the Barclays LifeSkills Programme spent a whole day with us in our allotment,” said Daisy Inclusive UK CEO Dave Kelly.
“It is such an impactful scheme which helps so many young people into work and we’re proud to be part of the programme.
“A huge thank you to Barclays for supporting us with the maintenance of the allotment. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with the Barclays LifeSkills Programme.”
The scheme is a free employability and financial education programme designed to support individuals, including educators, families and organisations in developing the skills and confidence needed for work.
Based in Everton, Liverpool, Daisy Inclusive UK helps disabled and vulnerable people to reach their true potential. Founded in 2004 by Dave Kelly, the charity uses sport as a vehicle for an individuals’ development.
