Love was in the air at Daisy Inclusive UK on Wednesday as the Liverpool-based disability charity hosted a Valentines Party at its centre in Everton.
Organised by Daisy’s very own Barbara Kennedy, the event was designed to enable beneficiaries to come together and enjoy each other’s company in a loving environment.
After JoJo’s Dance Party in the morning, Head Chef Ian Radcliffe served up a delicious afternoon tea, while there was a performance from Ukelele band, the Northwest Charity singers.
“What a fantastic day at Daisy Inclusive UK,” said CEO Dave Kelly.
“There aren’t enough of these types of events for people with disabilities to enjoy, and this was the perfect opportunity for Daisy to put on a show for them.
“I’m proud of our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries for making the days such a success.”

Valentine’s Day is a time celebrated by many, however, the challenges faced by those with a disability are not recognised.
Speaking about the topic of finding love as a disabled person, Dave added: “Everyone’s dateable – everyone can find a partner. It just needs the right support from parents, and us here at Daisy.”

Davey, a beneficiary at Daisy Inclusive UK said: “The event wasn’t just to celebrate Valentine’s Day – it was to celebrate friendships.
“No matter what disability you might have, you can still enjoy it. I’ve got a girlfriend who is in a wheelchair, and she is the love of my life – I’m not afraid to say that.
“People with disabilities are afraid of showing their emotions.”
